Topps Announces First 2007 Finest Baseball Rookie Redemption

From Nick Tylwalk, About.com GuideApril 3, 2007

Baseball card collectors didn't have to wait long to find out the identity of the first rookie in Topps' 2007 Finest redemption program. After just two days of the baseball season, Topps has announced that redemption card # 1 will be exchanged for a card of Boston Red Sox pitcher Hideki Okajima.

There are 10 different redemption cards for 2007 Finest, seeded at a rate of one in every three mini-boxes. Topps will continue to announce the identity of the remaining redemption cards as the season progresses, and the redeemed cards will ship to collectors some time after August 15.

When I think “2007 rookie card of Boston Red Sox Japanese pitcher that I want,” I definitely think of Hideko Okajima.

Vic, your sarcasm is noted and appreciated. For news of a 2007 rookie card of a slightly more famous Red Sox pitcher, read the new post above!
