Still no Dice-K for holders of 2007 Finest redemption cards, but the player picked by Topps for redemption No. 2 is still an intriguing choice. The company announced today that collectors who send in the second card will receive a rookie card of Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes.
The talented but troubled Dukes, who's had numerous legal issues and was suspended multiple times by the Rays while playing in the minors, tried to distance himself from his past by homering in his very first MLB game - in Yankees Stadium no less. He's part of an outfield rotation that excites fans and collectors alike with names like Carl Crawford, Delmon Young and B.J. Upton.
Rookie redemption cards (10 in all) are found in one out of three mini-boxes of 2007 Finest Baseball. Collectors who send in their cards can expect Topps to start shipping the exchanged cards after the August 15 deadline.
