Perhaps the allure of his upcoming date with history won over some fans. Or maybe his hometown supporters just stepped up big time. Whatever the case, Barry Bonds received enough votes to start in the MLB All-Star Game on July 10.
No matter what he does in the game, Bonds is likely to always be linked to this game (like anything from the 2007 season) because barring injury, he'll break Hank Aaron's all-time mark for career home runs not too long after it. Despite his personality issues and the juicing allegations, collectors are starting to reach a frenzy over his cards and collectibles - he's been the most-searched player on Beckett.com for weeks - and that activity is only going to increase when he puts his name in the record books.
With that in mind, the All-Star break might be the right time to grab some Bonds cards before things really heat up. Use the resources below to help you find the ones you want.

Nick,
Will any card companies issue sets commemorating Bonds’ achievements this season? Of course, the natural premium inserts would be numbered and autographed samples of the “cream” and the “clear.” Or maybe, retro cards of other notorious juicers. Who wouldn’t want random inserts of old Palmeroid, McGwiroid, Sosaroid, Cansecoid and Gonzalezroid rookie cards?? Or perhaps cards commemorating giants of the “field,” i.e. Victor Conte. I think those would be wonderful cards and instantly collectible memorabilia.
