Fall Classic Reflects What Was Hot in Baseball Cards
For many baseball fans, the World Series pairing of the Boston Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies must seem like an unlikely one. But for baseball card collectors, it has to seem strangely appropriate.
That's because each team has a rookie who enjoyed a whole lot of hobby interest during the 2007 season. Red Sox pitcher Daisuke "Dice-K" Matsuzaka made waves when he came over from Japan for big money, and his rookie cards were the selling point for many products earlier this year. And while the Rockies were making their incredible late-season run, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was a regular among the most-searched players on Beckett.com.
I'll have more on collecting the teams in the 2007 World Series as it unfolds, beginning on Wednesday night. Until then, make sure you don't miss out on any rookie cards from two of the players who were hobby headliners this year.
