The Last Word
Special F/X baseball seems like it's trying to be all things to all collectors by including a little bit of everything, and that makes it feel like it's not extraordinary in any one area. There's also no getting around the fact that the base set rehashes the regular Upper Deck set.
If looks were everything, Special F/X would score higher, and you do get some bang for your buck. But collectors would be better served if Upper Deck used this technology on an entirely new set instead of copying what's come before.
