What do you do when the brand you once used to define the top of the high-end sports card market gets a bit long in the tooth? If you're Upper Deck, and the brand in question is Ultimate Collection, you triple the amount of memorabilia and autographed cards in each box.
Upper Deck is promising an autograph and two memorabilia cards in each pack, plus a patch card numbered to 50 or less. And the company's press materials state that many of the hits to be found will have multiple signatures or swatches.
Look for Ultimate Collection Baseball in October, with signed cards from MLB rookies like Hunter Pence and Tim Lincecum and legends like Sandy Koufax and Cal Ripken Jr.
Ultimate Collection Football will follow in early November and feature autographed rookie cards from the likes of Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russell and Calvin Johnson. Stars like LaDainian Tomlinson and Reggie Bush are also in the mix.
