After Beckett Baseball readers and editors named Topps Triple Threads Baseball the Best Premium Product for 2006, it was a pretty safe bet to return for this year. Improving on last year's debut seems like a tall order, but Topps has come up with creative ways to do just that.
New for 2007 are Double Combos Relics, with six game-used swatches from six different players, Bat Nameplates, featuring the nameplate from a game-used bat barrel, and 1-of-1 Logo Man Patches from the 2006 All-Stars. Topps announced that past and present greats like Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard and Nolan Ryan will all be a part of Triple Threads.
According to a company press release, guarantees include:
- One Autographed Triple Relic #'d to 99 or less and one Triple Relic #'d to 36 or less in every two-pack box.
- Every card is sequentially numbered.
- Every Relic card contains three or more pieces.
