Though Fleer basketball cards and Michael Jordan have a rich history that dates back to MJ's rookie card, he never signed autographs on Fleer cards during his illustrious career. It's possible now thanks to Upper Deck 's ownership of the Fleer name, and the manufacturer is planning to make up for lost time in a big way.
Appropriately, Upper Deck has purchased 23 Fleer cards from throughout the late 80's and 90's and had Jordan sign them for insertion into packs of 2008-09 Fleer Basketball. The on-card signatures are in either blue or silver ink and each card is a hand-numbered one-of-one.
In another sign of the times, collectors can see the entire run of Jordan autographs by seeking out Upper Deck Basketball on Facebook. You can see seven of them without going anywhere though, thanks to the images in the following card gallery.
