Upper Deck may have pioneered the $100-plus pack of cards with UD Premier Football, but as the high end of the hobby has continued to evolve, the brand that got it started has likewise had to change or risk getting left behind.
The 2008 version of UD Premier is a seven-card box selling for around $250. Inside, collectors will find one base or parallel card, one autographed quad swatch rookie card, two autographed cards, one memorabilia card, one manufactured patch card and one game-worn patch card. Except for the rookies numbered to 275, every other card in the set has a print run of no more than 99 copies.
The following card gallery shows off one of the rookie cards and several cards from different insert sets, and with the way the product breaks down, they could all be found in a single box. UD Premier Football went live in late September 2008.
