The Last Word

Donruss may have to go another direction with Absolute Memorabilia next season, because products that boast a memorabilia card or autograph in every pack are multiplying. Two things the 2007 set has going for it are the RPM rookies, which historically settle in at decent if unspectacular values, and the various low-numbered jumbo and multi-swatch cards, some of which still sell for nice prices at a time when this is becoming the exception rather than the rule.

Buying by the pack is a little bit of a gamble, and not every box (the one I reviewed for one) is going to contain a card that will become a centerpiece of your collection. Some boxes do though, and if your collecting budget has room for its upper-middle class price tag, Absolute Memorabilia retains just enough of its own identity to be worth a look in 2007.
