Insert Cards

Prestige has plenty of regular insert cards to add a little extra perceived value to packs, all of which are non-memorabilia or non-autographed versions of the sets mentioned in the previous sections. Donruss Playoff promotional materials state that each box should contain one NFL Draft card and two Prestigious Pros cards, along with five other assorted inserts.

My review box had an extra parallel card, so it came up one short on insert cards. It did produce an NFL Draft Zach Miller and two Prestigious Pros cards, as well as four other inserts, including a foil League Leaders Steven Jackson/Willie Parker numbered to 100.

2007 Playoff Prestige Football proves that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have fun opening new football cards. The design is classy, there's just enough inserts to make each pack interesting and the short-printed rookies add a bit of challenge for anyone wanting to put together the entire base set.

The football card season is long, and Donruss Playoff and the other manufacturers will be releasing many other 2007 sets well into 2008. Still, Prestige is a strong effort right out of the gate, and hopefully a sign of good things yet to come.
